License Options & Pricing

School Music License combines the catalogs of your favorite Member Publishers, Artists, Composers, and Record Labels in one place, which is more convenient and far less cumbersome and expensive than obtaining permission from each publisher individually. We offer two licensing options* to fit your unique needs.

The first option is our Annual Basic License, which provides the most comprehensive coverage available, including: 

• Permission to stream included songs used in band concerts, orchestra recitals, choir performances, glee club and show choir concerts, marching band performances, and more. Wherever live school musicians are playing copyrighted repertoire that you want to share online, our licenses can help!
• Permission to archive videos of any school-related event and activity that includes musical performances, and to continue to stream so long as your license is in force.
• Permission to approved lyrics of approved songs in concert programs, as well as permission to display lyrics on a slide, subtitle, or online resource. 

The second option is our Annual Basic License + Master Recording Bundle, launching in 2024. This includes all of the same benefits as the Annual Basic License above, as well as: 

• Permission to include any approved recording / master track in a stream or video, such as master tracks used in a dance recital, gymnastics meet, poms performance, or cheer competition. This also covers prelude music before school events, commercial tracks used during sporting events and pep rallies, and even school dances with DJs! 
• Permission to stream your video, as long as your license is in force. This allows your school to archive past performances for future enjoyment by alumni and their families. 
• Priced at about half the cost of the Annual Basic License, the Recording Master Bundle add-on covers as many uses as you wish for the year the license is in effect.

*Note that our Annual Basic License and Recording Master Bundle options are intended to cover live music performances, master track uses, and lyrics. Certain other content, including plays, school musicals (grand rights), and poetry, is not covered under School Music License and will require permission directly from the copyright holder of this material.
